GitHub

Github GitHub is a source code hosting service first released in 2008 and developed by Tom Preston-Werner and two of his colleagues. Today the company has more than 250 employees, including several of former Microsoft developers. As a result GitHub client for Windows is constantly being updated with new features.

In 2015 Google and Microsoft has announced that their own code hosting services would be shutdown and GitHub would be used instead.

GitHub is hosting more than two million open source projects, including, among others, ASP .Net, LESS and SASS.

GitHub Pages allows users to host their own static websites directly from git repositories.
